History and Mission

History

An exhaustive assessment of the national and Florida lacrosse tournament landscape was conducted in 2008.  The group conducting the assessment included senior lacrosse stakeholders such as college coaches, elite program officials, high school coaches and administrators, and youth league officials.

The results of the assessment suggested that most tournaments were small-scale, poorly managed, "one-off" "mom-and-pop" affairs that varied widely in quality, consistency, standards, safety, and contribution to the sport.  Recognizing an opportunity to elevate the integrity of tournament events around the state, these senior stakeholders committed to developing a standardized system of tournament management, organization, delivery, and competition that provides the highest tournament quality available anywhere in the United States.

Innovations in registration, scheduling, seeding, and communication have been implemented that invariably differentiates the tournaments in this series from these other lesser-quality events.  Most importantly, participants find that our tournaments assist players in leveraging their interests by furthering their lacrosse developmental goals and interests.

Mission

The mission of the Florida United Lacrosse Cup series of tournaments is to ensure an unmatched level of quality and consistency in tournament management, organization, delivery, and competition, and maximize each players opportunity to develop their game skills, knowledge, and capabilities in a safe, competitive environment.
